DIY- Redneck Wineglass

Recently I was shopping at a novelty store and saw a wineglass labeled as redneck wineglass. I wanted to make my own so I decided to check out some thrift stores. Here's what I came up with.

Supplies:
Candlestick - 25 cents
Mason jar- 50 cents
Glue- $4

First thing I did was wash the items.
I then glued the candlestick to the mason jar and let it sit upside down for 24 hours. The glue stated full cure would be 24 hours. That's it!!

Kokanee Dip

My brother-in-law made the most amazing dip for Christmas. He's an avid fisherman and the dip he made calls for Kokanee Salmon. I finally got the recipe for this delicious appetizer.

I had a really hard time finding canned Kokanee salmon in California. He cans his own, so he always has some on hand. He assured me that any canned salmon would work.

Here's the finished product... :)

Enjoy!!

The dip tastes great on crackers!

Jalapeno Poppers

I came home one day and my boyfriend could not stop raving about how he wanted Jalapeno poppers. He was watching some cooking show and that was the featured dish. So needless to say, being the amazing girlfriend that I am, I started my hunt for the perfect Jalapeno poppers recipe.

I immediately went searching through one of my favorite websites, Pinterest . I found recipe after recipe, some more complicated than others. Now I'm all about easy and I wanted the easiest recipe with the least amount of ingredients. I finally found one that looked both easy and delicious! Courtesy of the Pioneer Woman I had finally found the perfect recipe! Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeno Thingies I tweaked the recipe a little, only out of laziness. Basically here's my recipe in a nutshell.

Preheat the oven to 375° - I used an un-greased cookie sheet with sides.

Ingredients:
20 Jalapeno peppers
2 packages of cream cheese (8 oz)
1 package of bacon
Box of toothpicks

Thats it!!

Basically you start with about 20 Jalapeno's.

You cut them in half length ways and take all the seeds out. You may want to use gloves for this.

*Lemon juice works well getting the juice off your hands.

Fill each one with cream cheese! This can get tricky if you're cream cheese isn't room temperature or already softened. I used a spoon for this.
Next you take a package of bacon and slice it into thirds. Take the bacon and wrap it around each jalapeno. A toothpick works nicely to keep it all in place. Careful not to make them too tight.

And finally spread them on a cookie sheet. Bake them in the oven at 375°. I baked them for about 30 minutes. They came out wonderfully!!

Such a simple easy recipe!! ENJOY!

I also tried this with an uncooked shrimp wrapped up with the bacon, not bad!

Hair today, gone tomorrow.

I hate spending money. I hate it even more when I'm spending money in a salon. Last night I was shipping at CVS and thought I'd check out the do it yourself waxing kits.

Now I can be a pretty hairy person and usually have to go get salon waxed every two weeks. My hair grows fast and being a brunette, its dark. So I spent about 20 minutes reading the backs of every product they had on the hair removal shelf. Well I finally decided on Veet.

Now I'm a big old chicken so I never thought I'd actually be able to rip the strip off my own face. I read the directions which seemed to be pretty simple. You run the strip together for 5 seconds to warm it up, place on spot your have hair, press down in the direction your hair grows and rip!

VoilĂ !

I was surprised at how easy it was! It didn't hurt like I thought it would. A few spots left a little sting, but not any worse than when you take a band-aid off. It even comes with a little wax residue removing soothing wipe.

So if you're looking to save a buck or two (the pack cost me $6), then try Veet!

10-day challenge!!

Today I start my 10-day challenge. I got the idea from The Full Moxie and decided to take on the challenge!! Here's the catch, you have to eat all natural foods! Well they do give you a break and say you can eat foods with four ingredients or less. You know how hard that is to find?! So here it goes... 10 days and day one starts now!

An easy little jewelry/ key holder

I was looking for something cute I could use to hang my keys and couldn't find anything I liked. The more I looked the more frustrated I became. Finally I just figured I'd make my own holder.

All you need is:
A piece of wood 4"x6"
Scarp fabric 12"x12" is more than enough
Batting
Hot glue
Cup hooks (I used 5)
A picture hanging hook
A piece of felt
A nail the size of the cup hook
Hammer
You place the fabric face down. You put the batting on the fabric and the wood in top. You wrap the fabric around the wood and glue. You will have to cut the fabric to size as you will have more than enough. Glue the felt over the back to hide the fabric.
On the front size you will not choose where you want your cup hooks. I use the nail and make a small hole before I screw the cup hook in. Finally when all the cup hooks are placed, I put a picture hanger on the back. You can use the glue to make it more secure.

And that's it! You have a cute little key or jewelry hanger.
